End of an Era & begining of a new chapter in Dav School Bilaspur

After serving for nearly two decades, Dr.B Ashok Kumar's reign, as Principal DAV Public School Bilaspur (C.G), has ultimately come to an end. He has now moved on, with a new and more prestigious beginning, as the Regional Director of Dav Public Schools(C.G. & M.P. Zone).

One of the toughest job, being the Principal of Dav Bilaspur, has been voluntarily accepted by Mr.S.K.Rai. It will be a challenge for him, who was a former Principal of Dav Gevra, to handle a  3500+  students and more than 130 teaching and non-teaching staff. Along with the internal pressure there will be tonnes of external pressure from media, local administration and from chottte-chhotte neta to bade-bade officials of SECL, Railways, Nagar Nigam, Collectrate, High Court etc.

Along with all this pressures, Mr.S K Rai has to continue and  excel the benchmark of achievements and performance set by Dr.B Ashok Kumar. All his experiences, his zeal and enthusiasm will help Mr.Rai to overcome the hurdles.

The hope becomes more realistic as Mr. Rai is a man of passion and vision. Best of luck SIR.

About DAV Schools

The Dayanand Anglo-Vedic Schools System, also familiarly known as the D.A.V. Public Schools System is the single largest non-governmental education society in India[citation needed]. It is based on the ideals of the religious and social reformer, Swami Dayanand Saraswati. The DAV system also comprises colleges offering graduate and post-graduate degrees in various areas of study all over India.
Founded in 1886, in Lahore by the efforts of Lala Hansraj, it manages 667 institutions today, 461 of which are high school level institutions, with an annual budget of more than 2 billion rupees. These schools are run by the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College Trust and Management Society, also commonly known as the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic Education Society.[citation needed]. It holds the record for producing the largest number of CBSE ( class Xth and XIIth) toppers as a single institution in the last 10 years[citation needed].
English is the primary language of instruction, with students also receiving compulsory education in Hindi and Sanskrit or a regional language. Anglo Vedic, the name itself implies a perfect blend of modern education and the essence of traditional Indian culture

The Legacy

The vision of a powerful and enlightened India had been conceived by Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati (1824-1883). He devoted his whole life to awaken the ignorant, illiterate masses of this country. He knew that it could be possible only through education and literacy. The vision and philosophy of the fearless reformer, Maharshi Dayanand, was given a practical shape by Mahatma Hans Raj, who led the educational renaissance in India.

As his most important legacy, the Mahatma left behind a pragmatic and enlightened approach to education. One aspect of his approach was his choice of English- oriented Science-based education with a blend of Vedic values. Another was the great emphasis he laid on women education. Lastly, true to the egalitarian basis of Arya Samaj philosophy (as conceived by Maharishi Dayanand), Mahatmaji believed in equality for all students irrespective of their caste, colour or creed were welcome to join the DAV institution. The first institution was established at Lahore in 1886 with Lala Hans Raj (Later Mahatma Hansraj) himself as the dedicated Headmaster. Today, the movement is led by DAV veterans like Padma Shri G.P. Chopra and his team of dedicated Office Bearers, who have a progressive vision.
